As a new century dawned, the church tried to discern where God was leading us by participating in a series of exercises which looked at our past, our present, and what we may dream of in the future. The congregation was asked what they loved about the church. People were asked to remember stories about our church that might tell us where God has led us in the past. At officer training events, we tried to project those stories into the things that we value here at BHPC. For example, our youth, our worship, our educational program and our service to community were all deemed as an important part of our mission and who we are.
As a result of those exercises, it is our belief that God has led us to proclaim our mission in the following statement:
