ALL
DAY SEW
Come
spend one day a month with a group of women who enjoy fellowship, food
and the making of a variety of crafts. There are plenty of tasks to
do for non-sewers so all women are welcome.
Our
primary purpose is to make pillows, lap robes, hats, sweaters, etc.
for distribution to V.A. hospitals, emergency shelters for victims of
domestic violence and other organizations that serve families and children
in need. Twice a year (July and November), we offer the people of our
church the opportunity to purchase our pillows and crafts. This provides
us with revenue for our other charitable pursuits.
We
meet the first Wednesday of each month (September through June) from
9:30 a.m. until approximately 2:30 p.m. Bring a dish to pass for lunch.
Call the church office at 708-449-7171 for more information.

ADVENT
FESTIVAL
The
Advent Festival occurs the fourth Sunday before Christmas after the
Sunday morning worship service. The Advent Season is a time of preparation
for the coming of the Christ child.
The
festival offers opportunities for adults and children to make Christmas
crafts, to fellowship with each other over lunch, to sing the first
carols of the season and to read the nativity scriptures. What a wonderful
way to begin the Christmas Season!
