Church School
The church School proveds an educational program on Sunday mornings for children ages 3 through grade 9. Classes for ages 3 through grade 6 meet from 10:15 until 11:15 a.m. during the school year. Children go to their classes from the Worship Service following the Children's Message. On Communion Sunday, the first Sunday of every month grades 2 through 6 return to worship to partake in Communion. Bible Break, an interfaith Bible study, was originally designed to attract the mothers of Little Angels, our preschool ministry, but is open to all women of any age. We meet on Thursday mornings from 9:15 a.m. until 11:15 a.m. for fellowship, study, discussion and prayer. We are also a support group for each other through life's trials.
You do not have to be any kind of expert to study the Scripture with us. We are only trying to get a better understanding of how God's Word relates to our lives. There is a free-will donation to cover study materials. You are most cordially invited to join us.
Confirmation class meets from 9:00 a.m. until 9:50 a.m. on Sunday mornings, September through May. It is a two-year program designed to provide an overview of the Old and New Testaments of the Bible. Students are usually 7th through 9th graders.
In addition to these classes, the pastor of the church meets with the youth for additional instruction. Some of these meetings are in the form of day outings to witness the outreach of the church to its various mission fields; others are in the form of retreats to provide a time of reflection and prayer in preparation of being confirmed in their faith.
Vacation Bible School for all children ages 3 to 12 ordinarily takes place during the last week in July. Watch for next year's information.
WEEKLY WEDNESDAY PRAYER MEETING
Come to Wednesday night prayer meetings at 6:30 – 7:00 in the Memorial Lounge. Everyone is invited to join us to sing hymns, share concerns, discuss scripture passage and pray. On the first Wednesday of the month our interim pastor the Rev. Kathy Keener-Han will serve Communion. If you are unable to attend Sunday Worship service, join us on Wednesday evenings. Everyone is welcome.
For more information, please call the Church office at 708-449-7171The Adult Bible Class meets on Sunday mornings from 9:00 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. before the worship service. Whether you have little knowledge of the Bible or are a more experienced student, you will find this class to be a warm and friendly place to grow in the faith through the study of God's Word.
All seekers of the faith are cordially welcomed.
Two Bible study groups are in covenant which means they have made a solemn agreement to meet and study together. Covenant members meet in members' homes for Bible study, prayer and fellowship and are a source of support for each other through life's trials. Our Bible studies are stimulating and seek to apply God's Word to our lives, situations and world events of today.
Monday Afternoon Covenant meets the third Monday of the month from 12:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m., September through June. Friday Night Covenant meets the 1st and 3rd Friday of each month at 7:30 p.m., September through May.

Men of the church (members and friends) travel to a retreat center for a weekend of study, fellowship and prayer led by a minister, student pastor or Christian educator. It provides rest from daily work and problems in addition to offering men time to search their souls for greater meaning in their lives. It is an inspiring weekend well worth your time and effort.
The retreat usually occurs each spring. Call the church office at 708-449-7171 for information and cost.
Women of the church (members and friends) travel to a retreat center for a weekend of study, fellowship and prayer led by a minister, student pastor or Christian educator. It provides rest from the scurry of everyday schedules and offers women an opportunity for the renewal of body and spirit.
